W.C. Woods Plant No. 2 Guelph

Guelph

10

This large industrial site of over 9 acres in The Ward currently operates as a warehouse as well as supporting interim community services like The SEED food security agency and the Children’s Foundation’s ‘Keep Kids Fed’ program. The property was known locally as ‘Plant 2’ as it was the second of the historic W.C. Woods plants that provided employment in the neighbourhood for more than 60 years.

This key redevelopment property is one of the four identified for master planning within the Guelph Downtown Secondary Plan based on its potential for intensification as well as the opportunity to create additional amenities and shared space for the neighbourhood. Wood Development Group is currently in the early stages of developing this 9.5 acre property to become a signature new residential development in Guelph’s historic neighbourhood known as The Ward.
